Our client came to us with a vision— he wanted to create a unique authentic restaurant, a space that made you feel like you were in Japan.
He wanted a space, look, and feel that you couldn’t get anywhere else in Canberra and to be the “Toast of the Town” the restaurant everyone was talking about.
With a very limited build time, and with many materials being imported from Japan, coordination, planning and sequencing the project was essential.
The tiles were handmade in Japan and the bamboo was also imported from Japan. Washi installation artists were flown in to sandwich the traditional Japanese paper within the glass panels to create a wall divider between the VIP and booth seating sections.
Our project team ran two shifts a day, seven days a week, to deliver this beautifully completed restaurant on time.
